Lizzo has been celebrating a major weight loss milestone that netizens are buzzing about. This comes after she shared revelations about her weight journey in past interviews.
In one close-up shot that she shared on Instagram, the singer showcased her midsection in a deep burgundy workout set, including a snug sports bra and high-waisted leggings that accentuated her figure.
Overlaid on the image is text confirming her achievement—Lizzo’s BMI has dropped by 10.5 points, and she has reduced her body fat by 16 percent.
The cover image of the post features Lizzo standing confidently in front of a bathroom mirror, wearing the same form-fitting burgundy activewear, with a headscarf framing her face. Holding a colorful, playful phone case, she snapped a selfie with a glowing, makeup-free complexion.
Included in this photo is a pop-up message, which reads, “Congratulations! You’ve met your weight goals.” In the caption, Lizzo shared her joy, writing, “I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal.”
Continuing, she expressed, “I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”
Lizzo also boasted about her weight loss on TikTok, posting a candid video where she opened up more. “I am actually on an intentional weight loss journey right now. Even at the end of my weight loss journey, I’m not going to be considered thin by any means,” disclosed the singer.
“I will still be considered morbidly obese on the BMI, and little bros on the internet are still gonna call me big-backed, but I will be happy,” added the “Water” artist. The video then cuts to Lizzo standing in the center of a well-lit room, now dressed in a sleek, figure-hugging black athleisure set with her hair pulled back.
With a beaming smile, she excitedly declared, “And I am happy! I did it!” She then burst into song, singing a line from fellow A-list artist Kelly Rowland’s “Like This,” while dancing. As she moved around, an overlapped image appeared on the screen, displaying the same weight loss statistics from her Instagram post.
She wrapped up the video by reiterating her message of motivation concerning the power of believing in oneself and her enthusiasm to set new weight goals.
Lizzo’s posts quickly garnered a flood of positive reactions from fans, who showered her with praise and encouragement.
“Good job lizzo [sic], keep it up. You look healthy and better,” remarked an admirer. Another echoed similar sentiments and called her beautiful.
Others highlighted how radiant and confident she appeared following her transformation. “You look healthy and glowing,” observed a fellow fan, while another gushed, “You unleashed a whole new you 🙌❤️.” Someone else noted, “This looks like such a comfortable weight for you! I hope you’re feeling great.”
Some fans kept their reactions short but enthusiastic, with one exclaiming, “Wow!” and another praising, “Snatched.” “Nicely done along with some sculpting!” commended a supporter, while another fan declared, “now [sic] this is healthy inspiration ❤️.”
The triumphant moment comes after the “2 Be Loved” musician sat down for an interview in March 2024 with The New York Times about her then-new swimsuit line, evolving perspective on body image, and the general shift away from the concept of body positivity to body neutrality.
At the time, Lizzo was taking a break from touring and shared how she had been using that period to prioritize activities that made her feel good, including exercise.
“I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” stated Lizzo, adding that she never regrets going for a walk or practicing Pilates. The singer, who was also dieting, went on to reveal, “I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly.”

She then expressed, “You mean if I lost weight, what would happen? Is my music and my weight so intrinsically connected that if I were to lose weight, I’d lose fans or lose validity? I don’t care! I lead a very healthy lifestyle—mentally, spiritually, I try to keep everything I put in my body super clean.”
Lizzo concluded her statement by re-emphasizing how much health is a priority for her, explaining that she became a vegan not to lose weight, but because she feels better when she eats vegan food.
Like her interviews, Lizzo has also been vocal about her weight journey via social media posts. In 2023, she shared a video on TikTok in response to a woman who said she did not use weight loss as a way to escape being heavier set.
After agreeing with the woman’s reflections, Lizzo listed all the challenging things she has to do as an artist, such as singing, rapping, dancing, playing the flute, being emotive and active, and wearing tight clothes that sometimes restrict her breathing.
